In 2024, we saw Hull FC host Hull KR to start the season but 2025 sees champions Wigan Warriors in their own derby game against Leigh Leopards as the Battle of the Borough opens up the campaign.
That game will be played on Thursday, 13th February and will kick off the Super League season.
Giants’ signing Tom Burgess will get his first taste of Super League action in 2025 against Warrington Wolves meaning he’ll take on older brother Sam, who coaches the Wire, with that game set to be one of the most-anticipated fixtures of the round, at least in the Burgess family WhatsApp group anyway.
Grand Finalists Hull KR host Castleford Tigers in a game that is somewhat of a coaching reunion with former KR assistants Danny McGuire and Brett Delaney returning to Craven Park.
As for the other Hull team, John Cartwright won’t be thanking those in charge of making the Super League fixtures as he’s tasked with taking FC on the road to face Catalans in his first match in charge.
Two play-off sides from 2024 will do battle at The Totally Wicked Stadium with St Helens hosting Salford Red Devils, whilst new boys Wakefield Trinity return to Super League and are slated to take on Leeds Rhinos to round off the Round One fixtures.
As in 2024, all games will be televised on Sky Sports with two games per round supported by full ‘studio-style’ coverage. Of course, Round One sees the opening fixture between Wigan Warriors and Leigh Leopards on Thursday night as one of those whilst the other is currently unconfirmed.
