If there’s any college football coach who knows how to overcome health issues to be there for his team, Hugh Freeze is that coach. The Auburn Tigers head coach notoriously coached a game from a hospital bed while he was with the Liberty Flames.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Freeze is dealing with some sort of illness ahead of their Week 9 matchup against Kentucky, and he wasn’t with the team when they traveled to Lexington on Friday.

“Sources: Auburn coach Hugh Freeze is battling an illness — potentially food poisoning — and didn’t travel with the team to Kentucky yesterday,” Thamel posted on X. “He’s flying up to Lexington this morning and is expected to coach.”
