When every Wigan Warriors’ overseas star’s contract expires including Bevan French

Wigan Warriors are the dominant force in Super League at present and the club’s exceptional roster building has played a massive part in that.

Balancing the steady stream of academy youngsters with the star power of veterans and overseas players is an art that the club look to have mastered, so much so that there are talks of whether this current team can become a dynasty after their impressive 2023 and 2024 campaigns.

The most recent of those campaigns saw them lift every piece of silverware available and one of the big keys to their success was their overseas talent, namely Bevan French who won Man of the Match in each of the World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup Final and Grand Final.

Alongside French are six other supremely talented overseas players who are all locked in for at least 2025.  We’ve assessed the contract status of those seven players to assess what action the club will have to take in the coming months and years in relation to their overseas stars.

When do the contracts of Wigan Warriors’ overseas stars expire?

After recently assessing the players who are heading into the final year of their Wigan Warriors contracts, it’s evident that both Adam Keighran and Willie Isa see their deals up at the end of the 2025 season.

Isa recently signed a contract extension to see him extend beyond the 2024 season and through until the end of the 2025 campaign, whilst Keighran, who signed ahead of the 2024 season, had arrived on a two-year deal at the club.

A further two overseas players see their deals expire at the end of the 2026 season, whilst another could see his time with the club end then. Both Abbas Miski and Kaide Ellis are tied down until the end of the 2026 season, meaning they have a further two years with the club.

As for Patrick Mago, who played in every single Wigan Warriors game in 2024, he has an option within his deal meaning that his contract could be extended till the end of the 2027 season.
